Foodhub - Senior Engineering Manager

Role Overview :

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to define and lead our Quality Engineering strategy across the organisation. In this model, teams take full ownership of testing, automation, and reliability end-to-end.

You will bring an automation-first mindset and clearly define how AI can be leveraged within the strategy, embedding quality throughout Foodhubs SDLC.

Important Note :

This is not an individual contributor QA role or a manual testing position. This is a leadership role requiring direct people management, along with strong influence and strategic thinking across teams.

We are not looking for QA-only managers. Instead, were seeking an Engineering Manager with a strong systems mindset and hands-on engineering background someone who can lead quality as an engineering function.

Key Responsibilities :

Quality as an Engineering Discipline :

- Foster a culture where engineers own quality end-to-end, without reliance on downstream QA

- Integrate testing into design, development, and CI/CD workflows

- Define and uphold quality standards across teams

Automation & AI-Driven Testing :

- Establish automation across all layers (unit, API, integration, and end-to-end)

- Drive adoption of AI-assisted testing, including test generation, flakiness detection, and coverage insights

- Ensure fast, reliable CI/CD pipelines with strong and actionable test signals

Engineering Leadership :

- Define and track quality metrics (e.g., defect leakage, MTTR, test coverage, pipeline health)

- Own quality gates and release standards

- Lead root cause analysis and drive systemic improvements

Influence & Accountability :

- Partner with senior engineers and tech leads across teams

- Challenge decisions when quality is at risk

- Drive accountability, even without direct authority

Building Capability :

- Build and scale a high-impact SDET / Quality Engineering team

- Focus on tooling, frameworks, and enablement rather than manual testing

What Were Looking For :

- 10+ years of experience in software engineering or quality engineering

- 5+ years in an Engineering Manager (or similar) role with direct reports

- Strong coding skills and solid system design expertise

- Experience leading engineering teams in scaling organisations

- Deep expertise in test automation, CI/CD, and distributed systems

- Experience with modern testing approaches (shift-left, automation-first)

- Hands-on experience leveraging AI in day-to-day workflows; exposure to AI-driven testing tools is a strong plus
