Flipkart - UI Engineer III - React.js Framework

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced UI Engineer III to join our product engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining user-friendly, responsive, and scalable interfaces for our web and mobile applications. This role requires strong front-end engineering expertise, a deep understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, performance optimization, accessibility standards, and an eye for design. As a senior contributor, you will collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences while mentoring junior engineers and driving best practices in UI development.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable, and efficient code using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).

- Implement pixel-perfect, responsive, and cross-browser compatible interfaces with attention to performance and accessibility.

- Build reusable components and libraries to improve development efficiency and

maintainability.

- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness across devices.

- Drive code reviews, enforce best practices, and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

- Partner with UX/UI designers to ensure technical feasibility of design elements and maintain

design consistency across products.

- Work closely with QA teams to ensure defect-free UI delivery through automated testing

frameworks (Jest, Cypress, etc.).

- Integrate front-end components with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or other backend services.

- Stay updated with the latest front-end technologies, frameworks, and industry trends, and

recommend their adoption when relevant.

- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG/ARIA) and internationalization

requirements.

Required Qualifications :

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern UI frameworks such as React.js (preferred), Angular, or Vue.js.

- Hands-on experience with state management libraries (Redux, MobX, or NgRx).

- Expertise in responsive design, CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, Material UI), and

modern CSS methodologies (BEM, CSS-in-JS).

- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and client-server integration.

- Experience with front-end build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Babel, Vite).

- Strong knowledge of performance optimization techniques for web applications.

- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Cypress, Playwright) for UI

components.

- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Agile methodologies.

- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for front-end hosting and deployment.

- Experience with accessibility tools and practices (axe, Lighthouse).

- Knowledge of UI/UX design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.

- Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) and performance audits.
