Role Overview :

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shopify QA Engineer responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, performance, and reliability of Shopify-based eCommerce stores and applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience testing Shopify storefronts, themes, checkout flows, integrations, and custom Shopify features while maintaining high standards of user experience and platform stability.

Key Responsibilities :

Functional Testing :

- Perform end-to-end testing of Shopify storefronts, themes, and customizations.

- Validate product catalog management, collections, search, filtering, and navigation.

- Test shopping cart, checkout, payment gateways, shipping methods, taxes, discounts, and order processing workflows.

- Verify customer account functionality including registration, login, password reset, and order history.

- Ensure proper functionality across Shopify Admin and storefront features.

Integration Testing :

- Test integrations with third-party applications, payment providers, shipping carriers, ERP, CRM, and marketing platforms.

- Validate Shopify APIs, webhooks, and custom app integrations.

- Verify data synchronization between Shopify and connected systems.

Cross-Browser & Device Testing :

- Conduct responsive testing across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

- Validate compatibility across major browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

- Ensure consistent user experience across platforms and screen sizes.

Regression Testing :

- Develop and execute regression test suites for Shopify releases and store enhancements.

- Identify and validate fixes for reported defects.

- Ensure new deployments do not impact existing functionality.

Performance & Usability Testing :

- Verify page load performance and user experience across key customer journeys.

- Test storefront responsiveness and checkout performance.

- Identify UI/UX inconsistencies and usability issues.

Defect Management :

- Log, track, and manage defects using tools such as Jira.

- Collaborate with developers, Shopify specialists, and business stakeholders to resolve issues.

- Provide clear defect documentation including reproduction steps and impact analysis.

Test Documentation :

- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test execution reports.

- Contribute to QA best practices and process improvements.

- Maintain testing documentation for Shopify features and integrations.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- 4+ years of QA experience with at least 4 years focused on Shopify platform testing.

- Strong understanding of Shopify architecture, themes, products, collections, orders, discounts, and checkout processes.

- Experience testing Shopify storefronts and Shopify Admin functionality.

- Knowledge of Shopify APIs, webhooks, and app integrations.

- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira.

- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.

- Experience performing functional, regression, integration, and cross-browser testing.

- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience testing Shopify Plus stores.

- Knowledge of Shopify theme customization and Liquid templates.

- Familiarity with browser developer tools and API testing tools such as Postman.

- Experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Shopify-focused automation frameworks.

- Understanding of eCommerce KPIs and customer journey testing.

- Experience with payment gateway testing and third-party app validation.
