Firstwave Technologies - Quality Assurance Engineer

Description:

We are hiring an Embedded QA Engineer who will be responsible for validating and ensuring the quality of embedded software and SoC components. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with embedded systems, debugging tools, and test execution on hardware platforms. This role involves planning, executing, and documenting test activities across multiple embedded features such as OS, multimedia, wireless, and system-level functionalities. You will collaborate closely with development teams, participate in performance and regression testing, identify defects, and support issue resolution to deliver reliable and high-quality embedded solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for embedded systems and SoC modules

- Perform system-level validation across OS, multimedia, wireless, and mobile features

- Use hardware debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer for fault isolation

- Validate power and thermal frameworks under varying load conditions

- Conduct performance, stress, regression, and stability testing

- Document defects, report findings, maintain test records and ensure compliance with quality standards

- Work closely with cross-functional teams for troubleshooting and issue closure

Required Skills:

- Strong understanding of embedded systems, microprocessor fundamentals, and SoC architecture

- Knowledge of SoC blocks like CPU, Modem, RF, PA, PMIC, Display, Graphics, Camera

- Good understanding of Linux/RTOS concepts

- Hands-on experience with debugging tools including JTAG, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer

- Familiarity with power/thermal frameworks and multimedia system testing

- Basic programming ability, preferably in Python for scripting and automation
