Job Overview :

This is a Test Engineer position within QCTs Core Platform Test Team. In this role the candidate will be responsible for testing core SW drivers/features for Qualcomms Real time OS and hardware blocks such as USB controller, clock regime, I2C/SPI controller, power management IC (PMIC), and PCIe. The team supports commercialization of drivers, PMIC, clocks, buses, peripherals, services, storage, boot etc. on Qualcomm chip sets through a combination of API/driver testing (white-box) and feature end to end system testing (black-box). The team contributes to testing throughout the life-cycle, including unit, integration, and system level testing.

The role involves a good mix of hands-on testing of the products and SW development of test cases and automation using a combination of C, Python, and Perl. Candidate will be responsible for development of test plans and automated test cases for new features. Additionally, the candidate will be interacting with various project teams.

Job Positions for 0 to 10 years of work experience on Embedded software testing and/or test automation.

Responsibilities :



Test Engineers will be responsible for developing SW test drivers and/or test automation which may include some of the following responsibilities :

- Proficiency in programming skills (Python, C). should be able design and code from scratch.


- Experience in System SW (bootloader, Board Support Package (BSP), HLOS) and/or low-level firmware Validation.


- Knowledge on SoC peripherals like clock, voltage and pmic are added advantage for the candidate.


- Experience in High Speed System peripherals (USB, PCIe) and knowledge on USB electrical/protocol compliance with low power modes are added advantage.


- Experience in low-level buses like i2c, SPI and UART


- Good understanding on Storage concepts like UFS, eMMC, Nand and NVMe


- Knowledge of kernel (memory management/allocation, scheduler, device management etc.)


- Solid knowledge on SW Quality, ARM architecture, Linux, RTOS & QNX OS, programming.


- Good debugging skills. Able to understand various kinds of debug logs and trouble shoot the issue.


- Should be an excellent teammate, with passion towards new trends/technology.


- Ability to self-manage, show leadership, good analytical skill and communicate well.


- Experience to use Configuration Management tools (Git, Perforce, Code Collab) and Agile scrum tools (JIRA, Orbit).


- Excellent data analysis skills and demonstrated ability in solving complex issues involving multiple software or hardware components.


- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, specifically a proven ability to effectively guide and influence within a dynamic environment.


- Exposure to pre-silicon hardware simulators and emulators is a plus


- Good communication and interpersonal skills


- Ability to time-share and prioritize between multiple tasks is crucial
