We operate from London, a UK distribution centre in Market Drayton, and our operations hub in Gurugram, India.

What are we looking for ?

1. Architectural Leadership & AI Infrastructure (40-50%) :

- Own the Technical Blueprint : Drive core architectural decisions, ensure system reliability, and scale our infrastructure to support both traditional application code and modern AI workloads.

- AI-Native Implementation : Architect systems that seamlessly integrate LLMs, RAG pipelines, agent workflows, or external AI APIs into our product architecture.

- Hands-On Building : Write clean, modular, and well-tested code for core systems, managing tech debt pragmatically to balance iteration speed with long-term stability.

2. Modern Team Building & Hiring (25-30%) :

- Recruit & Onboard : Partner with leadership to define engineering profiles, evaluate technical candidates, and hire top-tier mid-to-senior software engineers.

- AI-Augmented Developer Culture : Establish engineering practices that maximize AI-assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude/OpenAI APIs) to multiply individual developer output, automated testing, and code quality.

3. Execution & Delivery Velocity (20%) :

- Translate Roadmap to Tech : Work directly with our product-minded CEO to translate business specs into execution sprints, clear tasks, and predictable delivery cadences.

- CI/CD & MLOps : Set up automated CI/CD pipelines, robust monitoring, evaluation benchmarks, and continuous testing for both software and model outputs.

4. Mentorship & Engineering Standards (10%) :

- Level-Up the Team : Coach and mentor junior and mid-level developers on system design, code reviews, and prompt/context engineering best practices.

- Maintain Technical Rigor : Build an engineering culture built on accountability, continuous learning, high coding standards, and fast feedback loops.

Requirements :

- Experience : 8-10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2-3 years in a formal or informal leadership role (Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or Engineering Manager).

- AI-Native Mindset : You treat AI tools as standard operating equipment for software engineering-you write code, write tests, and refactor using AI assistants, and you know how to build AI integrations into user-facing applications.

- Proven Builder : You have played a central role in scaling an early-to-mid-stage codebase and understand what scalable, maintainable infrastructure looks like.

- Team Developer : You have experience interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring engineers to elevate their skills.

- Pragmatic Engineer : You prefer clean, effective, and modular architecture over over-engineered abstractions.
