Role : GitHub Administrator

Role Overview :

As a GitHub Administrator, you will be at the heart of our software development lifecycle, ensuring the smooth operation, security, and optimization of our GitHub Enterprise environment. You'll collaborate closely with development teams, security engineers, and IT infrastructure specialists to implement best practices, automate workflows, and provide expert support. Your work will directly impact the productivity of our engineers, the security of our code, and the speed at which we deliver innovative solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and maintain the GitHub Enterprise platform, including user access, permissions, and repository configurations, to ensure a secure and efficient development environment for all engineering teams.

- Develop and implement automation scripts using Python to streamline GitHub workflows, such as repository creation, branch management, and code review processes, improving developer productivity and reducing manual effort.

- Integrate GitHub with Azure DevOps and other CI/CD tools to create a seamless and automated software delivery pipeline, enabling faster and more reliable releases.

- Monitor GitHub Enterprise performance and security, identifying and resolving issues proactively to minimize disruptions and protect sensitive data.

- Provide technical support and training to developers on GitHub best practices, Git workflows, and security protocols, empowering them to use the platform effectively and securely.

- Collaborate with security teams to implement and enforce security policies within GitHub, including branch protection rules, vulnerability scanning, and access controls, safeguarding our codebase from unauthorized access and potential threats.

- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for GitHub processes, configurations, and best practices, ensuring knowledge sharing and consistency across the organization.

- Contribute to IT infrastructure automation projects, leveraging Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration, improving the efficiency and reliability of our infrastructure deployments.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in administering and maintaining GitHub Enterprise environments, including user management, repository configuration, and security settings.

- Proven ability to develop and implement automation scripts using Python to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

- Strong understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, and code review processes.

- Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure automation principles and practices.

- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, collaborating with teams both in-office and remotely.

- Working with Github runners and Github actions along with Dockers and Kubernetes is a must
