About the Role :

We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to take hands-on leadership of a distributed team developing data products and delivering high quality data to our biopharma customers.

This role focuses on 50% people leadership, 30% delivery management, and 20% technical leadership.

You'll develop and support a high performing engineering team through effective 1 : 1s, coaching, performance management, and career development while fostering a collaborative, accountable culture.

You'll also help the team adopt and mature agile and Scrum practices to improve collaboration, predictability, and flow.

You'll ensure predictable, high quality delivery of customer data by overseeing planning, deployments, operational processes, and risk management in close partnership with Product and Scrum teams.

You'll also provide high level technical direction-guiding architecture and design decisions, reviewing work, and upholding engineering quality and best practices.

While this is a leadership role focused on direction rather than implementation, strong technical judgment is essential.

You'll also be accountable for the reliability and operational health of the platforms your team owns, ensuring strong monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices.

Responsibilities :

- You'll provide close, direct leadership to the engineers on your team

- Support the team in improving agile/Scrum practices to strengthen collaboration, predictability, and delivery flow

- Drive predictable delivery and continuous improvement across the team

- Guide architectural decisions and maintain engineering quality standards

- Oversee planning, prioritization, deployments, and operational readiness

- Collaborate across cross functional and distributed teams

- Support hiring, onboarding, and team mentorship

What We're Looking For :

- Experience required : 10+ Years

- 6+ years of software engineering tech stack experience & 3+ years of technical leadership or people leadership experience

- Strong hands on development experience (backend, frontend, or full stack) with ability to guide others

- Practical DevOps experience with production systems

- Solid understanding of software architecture and automation

- Experience coaching engineers and giving clear, actionable feedback

- Experience working in agile/Scrum environments

- Excellent communication skills

- Life sciences / healthcare domain experience is a plus
