Excelra - Chief Data Architect

Description :

- Define and enforce data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and data security policies across the organization.

- Lead the architecture and optimization of large-scale distributed data platforms using cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Drive the adoption of modern data technologies including big data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark), streaming platforms (Kafka), and advanced analytics tools.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering leaders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.

- Establish best practices for data integration, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data lifecycle management.

- Oversee data modeling efforts, ensuring consistency, scalability, and performance optimization across systems.

- Enable advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives by building robust data infrastructure.

- Lead and mentor a team of data architects, engineers, and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices related to data privacy and security.

Key Requirements :

- 15 to 20 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles, with at least 5+ years in a leadership capacity.

- Strong expertise in designing enterprise data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouses.

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and modern data stack tools.

- Deep understanding of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and streaming frameworks such as Kafka.

- Experience with database technologies including SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).

- Strong knowledge of data governance, data modeling (dimensional and normalized), and metadata management.

- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and orchestration frameworks such as Airflow, Informatica, or Talend.

- Exposure to AI/ML data pipelines and analytics platforms is highly preferred.

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience in building data platforms for large-scale enterprises or high-growth environments.

- Knowledge of data mesh, data fabric, or modern decentralized data architectures.

- Certifications in cloud platforms or data engineering/architecture are a plus
