ETL Tester - SQL/Data Warehousing

Responsibilities :

- Analyze business requirements, technical specifications, and ETL mappings to design test plans and test cases.

- Perform ETL testing including data validation, data transformation, and reconciliation.

- Validate data flows between source systems, staging, and data warehouse/data marts.

- Write and execute complex SQL queries to verify data integrity.

- Identify, report, and track bugs or data issues using defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).

- Work closely with data engineers and developers to reproduce and resolve issues.

- Automate ETL tests where applicable using scripting or tools.

- Prepare test summary reports and provide testing sign-off.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Strong proficiency in SQL and ability to write complex queries for data validation.

- Good understanding of ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, DataStage, or SSIS.

- Familiarity with data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schema).

- Experience in testing large datasets and working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata).

- Understanding of ETL concepts, data quality rules, and data lineage.

- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
