ETL Test Engineer - Performance/Automation Testing

Mandatory Skill :

- ETL/ELT Testing (hands-on) : S2T reconciliation, transformation validation, data reconciliation, regression strategy.

- Advanced SQL : joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations; performance-aware querying for large datasets.

- Python Automation + Pytest : strong hands-on automation experience for data validation; ability to write maintainable test suites.

- ETL Architecture & DWH Concepts : strong understanding of ETL/ELT flows, staging/ODS/warehouse concepts, data quality dimensions.

- Test & Defect Management : Jira and/or X-Ray; documenting results, defects, tracking to closure.

- Agile/Scrum : working in sprints, validating acceptance criteria, supporting story-level testing.

- Hands-on mindset : expectation is to actively execute testing and build automation (not only coordination).

Must have skills :

- Unix/Linux commands for navigation, log checks, job validation, and operational triage.

- Python fundamentals: data structures (lists/tuples/sets/dicts), OOPs, file handling, DB handling, debugging.

- Pandas/DataFrames, lambda functions for transformations/checks.

- Basic cloud interaction (preferred): exposure to Boto3 is a plus where AWS is used.

- Strong communication/documentation to explain data issues to technical and non-technical audiences.

Good to have :

- Databricks & PySpark understanding (testing in lakehouse patterns).

- Cloud data platforms : Snowflake / Databricks / BigQuery / Redshift / Synapse; RDBMS (Postgres/SQL Server/Oracle).

- ETL/ELT tools : Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend, dbt, Airflow.

- Data quality frameworks/tools : Great Expectations, Deequ; metadata/lineage concepts.

- CI/CD test reporting and orchestration : Allure, JUnit XML, environment/release management.

- API testing basics for data services : Postman, REST validation.
