ETL Test Engineer - Big Data Testing

Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced ETL Test Engineer with strong expertise in ETL Testing, Data Warehouse Testing, BI Report Testing, and Big Data Testing.

The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in SQL/PLSQL, possess hands-on experience with test management tools, and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills.

This role involves validating complex data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting large-scale enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, author, and execute ETL test cases for large-scale data warehouse and big data systems

- Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading logic across multiple source and target systems

- Perform BI report testing to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency

- Develop and maintain test plans, test strategies, and test reports

- Create and manage test data to support ETL and integration testing

- Execute test cases, log defects, perform retesting, and ensure proper defect closure

- Ensure end-to-end data validation using complex SQL queries

- Perform peer reviews of test cases and provide feedback to ensure quality standards

- Review requirements and ensure traceability between requirements and test cases

- Participate in test strategy discussions and provide effort estimates during project planning

- Work closely with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to resolve issues

Mandatory Skills & Experience :

- Strong experience in ETL Testing and Data Warehouse Testing

- Hands-on experience with any ETL tool

- Excellent proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL

- Experience in Big Data Testing (data validation across large datasets)

- Experience in BI Report Testing

- Hands-on experience with Test Management tools such as HP ALM, Synapses RT, or Jira

- Strong understanding of ETL concepts and data flows

- Good knowledge of SDLC/STLC processes and testing methodologies

- Understanding of Defect Life Cycle

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills

Good to Have Skills :

- Experience in Clinical Data / Clinical Domain

- Exposure to Agile or Lean SDLC methodologies

- Experience with Cloud technologies

- Exposure to Test Automation

- Programming knowledge in Python or Java

Education :

- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline

- Detail-oriented with a strong data validation mindset

- Comfortable working with complex data models and multi-system integrations

- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams

- Adaptable to fast-paced project environments and tight timelines
