Ergode - PHP Developer - Laravel/CodeIgniter

About the Role :

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented PHP Developer with strong proficiency in Laravel and/or CodeIgniter frameworks.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining dynamic web applications and backend services with robust, clean, and scalable code.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about web development and eager to work on eCommerce platforms, custom CMS, and API integrations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable PHP code

- Work with popular PHP frameworks like Laravel, CodeIgniter, and occasionally Magento or WordPress

- Develop and integrate user-facing elements using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, and JSON

- Implement RESTful APIs and handle third-party integrations for payment gateways, shipping APIs, etc.

- Manage and maintain MySQL databases, optimizing queries and schema design for performance

- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, QA testers, and project managers to deliver high-quality features

- Debug issues, write unit tests, and refactor code to improve application performance and reliability

- Stay current with best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to internal documentation

Required Technical Skills :

- Strong experience in PHP, with good knowledge of OOP (Object-Oriented Programming) principles

- Hands-on experience in Laravel and/or CodeIgniter frameworks

- Good working knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB including writing complex queries

- Solid experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and JSON/XML data handling

- Familiarity with MVC architecture and modular application development

- Experience with version control systems like Git
