Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Node.js Solution Architect to design and lead the development of scalable backend platforms, API ecosystems, and distributed applications using Node.js and related technologies. The role requires deep expertise in backend engineering, event-driven systems, microservices, cloud-native deployment, and high-throughput application design, along with the ability to guide enterprise-wide technology decisions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define end-to-end architecture for Node.js-based backend platforms, enterprise APIs, and distributed applications.

- Establish technical standards for Node.js, TypeScript, service modularity, dependency management, and application lifecycle management.

- Design scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and event-driven application components.

- Develop architecture patterns for asynchronous processing, concurrency management, connection pooling, and resource utilization.

- Design event-driven workflows using message brokers and streaming technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or cloud-native messaging services.

- Define API gateway, service discovery, rate limiting, authentication, authorization, and API versioning strategies.

- Drive cloud-native architecture and deployment strategies across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Establish data access and persistence strategies across relational and NoSQL databases.

- Define caching, distributed transactions, idempotency, fault tolerance, and resilience patterns.

- Drive observability through centralized logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and application performance monitoring.

- Establish application security practices, secure dependency management, secrets handling, and vulnerability mitigation.

- Lead performance engineering, load testing, bottleneck analysis, and capacity planning for high-volume services.

- Guide the adoption of containers, Kubernetes, automated deployments, and infrastructure automation.

- Drive migration from legacy backend platforms to modern Node.js-based services where appropriate.

- Conduct architecture reviews, design assessments, technical feasibility studies, and proof-of-concept initiatives.

- Collaborate with frontend architects, data teams, product leaders, and enterprise architects to align technical solutions with business goals.

- Mentor senior engineers and technical leads and oversee architecture compliance across development teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 17 - 25 years of experience in software engineering, backend development, distributed systems, and solution architecture.

- Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and backend application design.

- Extensive experience designing REST APIs, GraphQL services, microservices, and distributed applications.

- Deep understanding of asynchronous programming, event loops, non-blocking I/O, and performance optimization.

- Experience with event streaming, message queues, and distributed messaging patterns.

- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, caching solutions, and data consistency models.

- Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation.

- Knowledge of API security, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and secure application development.

- Experience with observability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and high-availability architecture.

- Ability to lead technical design discussions, evaluate architecture trade-offs, and manage complex engineering dependencies.

- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience building high-throughput, low-latency enterprise applications.

- Exposure to serverless computing, distributed tracing, service meshes, and platform engineering.

- Experience with large-scale digital transformation and backend modernization programs.
