Entrata - Database Administrator - PostgreSQL

Key Responsibilities :

- Assist in monitoring and maintaining PostgreSQL databases, especially those deployed on AWS RDS Aurora.

- Help perform routine tasks such as user creation, permission management, database health checks, and backup validation.

- Learn and support cloud-native features such as RDS snapshots, parameter groups, failover handling, and read replicas.

- Learn and support database backups, restores, snapshots, and replication strategies.

- Collaborate with the team to investigate and troubleshoot basic performance issues using PostgreSQL tools and AWS CloudWatch.

- Develop and maintain basic automation scripts in Shell or Python for DB maintenance and alerts.

- Maintain the automation scripts in GIT

- Document SOPs, checklists, and known issue resolutions for repeatable processes.

- Perform basic SQL query analysis, indexing checks, and log review.

Required Skills :

- Basic understanding of RDBMS databases, SQL queries, and relational database principles.

- Basic understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, indexing, and transactions.

- Familiarity with Linux environments and basic system commands.

- Shell/python scripting

- Strong desire to learn cloud database management on AWS.

- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

- Exposure, basic understanding of AWS RDS,S3,IAM

- Basic understanding of GIT

- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Good to Have :

- Exposure to AWS RDS (Aurora PostgreSQL preferred) instances, snapshots, security groups.

- Understanding of AWS EC2 and S3 in the context of database operations.

- PostgreSQL Database knowledge.
