Job Title: Enterprise Architect (401k / Retirement Systems)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and emotionally intelligent Enterprise Architect to lead the evolution of our application architecture.

In this role, you will be the technical cornerstone of our engineering group, responsible for evaluating, modernizing, and certifying our core systems.

You are a technical visionary who understands that great architecture is built by great teams.

We need a "servant leader" who can seamlessly integrate with our established engineering team, checking egos at the door and fostering a "one team" mentality.

If you have deep technical expertise in modern cloud architectures, a strong background in financial systems (specifically 401k plans), and the communication skills to bridge the gap between business and technology, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Architectural Review & Evolution: Conduct comprehensive reviews of the existing application architecture. Identify bottlenecks, technical debt, and areas for improvement, and implement strategic improvisations to modernize the system.

- System Certification: Act as the final technical authority to "certify" the system architecture across all critical non-functional requirements (NFRs), including:

1. Performance: Ensuring high speed and low latency.

2. Reliability & Stability: Guaranteeing system uptime and fault tolerance.

3. Scalability: Designing for future growth and traffic spikes.

4. Security: Safeguarding sensitive financial data and ensuring compliance.

- Collaborative Leadership & Team Integration: Integrate seamlessly with the existing engineering team. Lead by influence and mentorship rather than authority. Approach architectural changes with diplomacy, ensuring current team members feel valued, heard, and aligned with the new technical vision.

- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary technical liaison between engineering, product management, and business stakeholders. Translate complex technical concepts into clear business impacts.

- Domain Application: Leverage deep functional knowledge of 401k plans to align system architecture with strict financial industry regulations, compliance standards, and business logic.

- Cloud & DevOps Strategy: Drive our cloud infrastructure strategy using AWS or Azure, and oversee the optimization of CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless, automated, and secure software delivery.

Required Technical Qualifications:

- Experience: 12+ years of software engineering experience with at least 8+ years acting in a Lead Architect or Solutions Architect capacity.

- Programming Languages: Strong, hands-on architectural experience with Java and Node.js.

- Cloud Platforms: Proven experience designing and deploying scalable solutions in AWS or Microsoft Azure.

- Database Architecture: Deep expertise in Database Designing and Architecture, with strong proficiency in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar relational database management systems.

- DevOps: Solid understanding of modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline management (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline).

Required Soft Skills & Domain Knowledge:

- Domain Expertise: Proven functional knowledge of 401k plans, retirement services, or related wealth management systems is required.

- Exceptional Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor technical discussions to both engineering teams and non-technical C-level executives.

- High Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Demonstrated ability to navigate complex team dynamics, build trust quickly, and drive change through empathy, diplomacy, and collaboration rather than disruption
