Engineering Manager - System Design

Role Summary :

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with people management, project execution, and strategic planning capabilities.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define technical strategy, engineering roadmap, and development best practices aligned with business objectives.

- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, QA teams, DevOps, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

- Drive end-to-end project execution including planning, estimation, resource allocation, risk management, and timely delivery.

- Mentor and coach engineers, team leads, and senior developers to support career growth and improve team performance.

- Conduct regular performance reviews, feedback sessions, and succession planning.

- Ensure code quality through design reviews, code reviews, testing standards, and engineering governance.

- Oversee system architecture decisions for scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

- Manage technical debt, release cycles, incident management, and production stability.

- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, hiring plans, and organizational scaling.

- Participate in hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and team expansion initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- Strong experience in software architecture, system design, and distributed systems.

- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, or Node.js.

- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration tools like Docker/Kubernetes.

- Experience managing Agile/Scrum development processes.

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
