We are seeking an Engineering Manager Quality, Reliability & Automation to build and lead our centre of excellence for quality engineering. You will be responsible for defining strategy, scaling test automation, and embedding reliability practices across engineering teams. Your leadership will ensure every release meets the highest standards of stability, performance, and securityultimately protecting millions of children and families.

This role goes beyond testingyoull shape organisational quality culture, drive automation-first practices, and partner with global engineering leaders to deliver a platform that is resilient, scalable, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities :

- Leadership & Strategy : Build, lead, and scale a high-performing Quality & Automation team that owns platform-wide testing, performance, and reliability.

- Centre of Excellence : Establish the client's quality engineering practices, ensuring automation-first and shift-left principles are embedded across all teams.

- Automation at Scale : Drive development and adoption of robust automated testing frameworks for functional, regression, API, and performance testing.

- Reliability & Performance : Partner with engineering, DevOps, and SRE teams to ensure system scalability, load resilience, and observability across services.

- CI/CD Integration : Oversee seamless integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to achieve near-complete regression coverage.

- Metrics & Accountability : Define and track KPIs (defect leakage, regression coverage, MTTR, reliability SLAs) to measure and continuously improve quality.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with product, engineering, and U.S.-based leaders to align on priorities, drive execution, and deliver high-impact outcomes.

- Culture & Mentorship : Foster a culture of quality ownership across engineering, mentor future QA leaders, and enable teams to deliver with confidence.

Preferred Qualifications :

- 8+ years of software engineering/QA experience with 3+ years in a leadership or management role.

- Proven experience building and scaling automation teams and frameworks for large-scale platforms.

- Strong background in automated testing tools/frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Jest, CodeceptJS, RSpec).

- Hands-on knowledge of API and performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner, WebLOAD) and distributed test systems.

- Experience working in cloud-native, containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).

- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild).

- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, ELK) and reliability metrics (SLOs, SLAs, SLIs).

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across geographies.

- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
