Engineering Manager - Python

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership :

- Design and architect scalable backend systems using Python and Django

- Drive the development of microservices-based architecture and RESTful APIs

- Build and manage cloud-native applications on AWS (RDS, EKS, etc.)

- Ensure high system performance, availability, and scalability for large-scale production environments

- Lead efforts in database optimization, especially PostgreSQL performance tuning

- Implement event-driven architectures for distributed systems

- Oversee containerization using Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes

Team Management & Delivery :

- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, fostering a strong engineering culture

- Drive sprint planning, execution, and delivery in an Agile/Scrum environment

- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure high-quality deliverables

- Manage project timelines, priorities, and stakeholder expectations

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, DevOps, and Business stakeholders

Operational Excellence :

- Ensure system reliability through monitoring, logging, and observability practices

- Drive best practices in CI/CD, testing, and deployment automation

- Handle production incidents, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

- Optimize cost, performance, and scalability of cloud infrastructure

Strategic & Domain Contribution :

- Contribute to product roadmap and technical strategy

- Work closely with business teams to align technical solutions with supply chain / logistics workflows

- Drive innovation and adoption of modern technologies and engineering practices

Mandatory Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in Python and Django

- Experience with AWS services (RDS, EKS, etc.)

- Strong expertise in Docker and Kubernetes

- Solid understanding of Microservices Architecture and API Design

- Experience in event-driven architecture

- Strong experience in PostgreSQL performance tuning

- Proven experience in team handling and technical leadership

- Experience working on large-scale production systems

- Domain experience in Supply Chain / Logistics / OMS / WMS

Nice-to-Have Skills :

- Experience in E-commerce platforms

- Exposure to Observability / SRE practices (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)

- Experience in Order Management Systems (OMS) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

- Background in product-based companies
