Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Engineering Manager - Platform to lead our Platforms Team. The ideal candidate will have 8-13 years of experience and a strong background in managing the full lifecycle of platform solutions for large-scale distributed systems. You will be responsible for defining the team's roadmap, ensuring the 24/7/365 reliability and performance of our services, and mentoring a high-performance engineering team. This role is crucial for maintaining and scaling the production systems that power all our user-facing services.

Key Responsibilities :

Platform Strategy & Execution :

- Lead the Platforms Team roadmap from conceptualization to delivery for current and next-generation tools and technologies.

- Manage release planning, execution, and deployment to ensure production and non-production environments run smoothly without performance or reliability issues.

- Provide technology thought leadership and influence new designs, architectures, and standards for large-scale distributed systems.

System Reliability & Automation :

- Work with the team to design, build, and deliver software that ensures the reliability, availability, and performance of all services.

- Automate processes to stabilize production environments and prevent problem recurrence, acting as an advocate for automation principles and best practices.

- Engage in service capacity planning and forecasting, as well as software performance analysis and system tuning.

Team Leadership & Mentorship :

- Build and mentor a high-performance engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

- Practice and promote processes like blameless postmortems and proactive identification of potential outages to drive iterative improvement.

Required Skills :

Technical Expertise :

- 8-13 years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

- Strong experience and understanding of Agile development concepts and Cloud environments, ideally with a development background.

- Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services and Containers.

Problem-Solving & Leadership :

- Proven ability to systematically approach problem-solving with a strong sense of accountability.

- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Strong knowledge of Linux, Networking, and Cloud administration.

- Proven experience with microservices architecture.

- A holistic view of how systems relate to each other.

- Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
