About the Role :

We are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the technology team for one of Indias fast-growing OTT platforms. The role demands strong technical leadership, hands-on expertise in Next.js and Nest.js, and proven experience in building and scaling consumer-facing applications that deliver seamless video streaming experiences to millions of users.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and scale the engineering team responsible for building a high-performance OTT platform.

- Architect, design, and deliver scalable web applications ensuring low-latency, high availability, and exceptional user experience.

- Collaborate with Product, Content, and Design teams to roll out new features including personalization, recommendations, search, and payments.

- Drive best practices in video streaming, API design, caching, and content delivery (CDN integrations).

- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security for large-scale traffic spikes during live streaming or new releases.

- Balance hands-on technical contributions (architecture reviews, coding when necessary) with team management.

- Mentor engineers, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.

- Oversee Agile processes, resource planning, and timely delivery of product releases.

Requirements :

- 8 to 12 years of overall software development experience, including 3+ years leading engineering teams.

- Strong expertise in Next.js and Nest.js, with experience in building high-performance web applications.

- Experience working with streaming technologies, CDN integrations, and video platforms is highly desirable.

- Strong understanding of system design, distributed architectures, caching strategies, and microservices.

- Proven ability to deliver large-scale consumer products with millions of concurrent users.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Prior experience in OTT, media, or consumer-tech platforms.

- Exposure to DRM, adaptive bitrate streaming (HLS/DASH), and real-time analytics.

- Hands-on knowledge of personalization, recommendation engines, and data-driven features.
