Role : Engineering Manager, Marketing Platform Automation
Shift : General
As a member of the Product and Engineering team, You will lead the engineering team that builds and operates global marketing automation platform. This role focuses on people management, team performance, and delivery excellence while guiding engineers who build backend services, integrations, and automation workflows that power our Marketing and Revenue operation ecosystem.
Your responsibilities span across the Marketing as well as Sales & Customer Success Platform, each of which are cross-functional teams consisting of product management, product ownership, and engineers who are responsible for our core Revenue Technology stack.
Primary Job Responsibilities :
- End-to-end people leadership for a 35 engineer team
- Hire, onboard, coach, develop, and manage out low performance when necessary
- Drive execution for distributed systems, automation services, and backend integrations that support Marketing and RevOps
- Quality, reliability, and technical health across team-owned systems
- Partner with Product, Marketing Ops, and US engineering teams to align roadmaps and delivery
- Build and grow a high-performing 35 engineer team, setting clear expectations and following through consistently
- Drive team culture built on accountability, clarity, and continuous learning
- Coach engineers across experience levels, provide structured feedback, and manage low performance when needed
- Diagnose delivery bottlenecks early, remove blockers, and keep our team on track
- Ensure effective collaboration across Product, Marketing Ops, and US partners
- Communicate upward with metrics, clear risks, and actionable recommendations
- Foster trust, empathy, and strong cross-team relationships to maintain alignment and momentum
- Guide the team in delivering reliable, well-tested backend services and distributed systems in Python or Java
- Oversee integrations, APIs, pipelines, and automation workflows that support Marketing and RevOps
- Ensure systems are designed for durability, observability, maintainability, and production readiness
- Provide technical direction on architecture, trade-offs, and scaling decisions
- Establish consistent engineering practices that raise quality across code, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and delivery
- Promote pragmatic decision-making that balances customer needs, business priorities, and technical integrity
- Influence platform-wide technical strategy by partnering with senior engineers and architects
- Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
- Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
Skills and Qualifications :
- 8+ years professional software engineering experience with strong exposure to backend/distributed systems
- 3+ years people management experience for software engineers
- Experience managing performance, running reviews, delivering feedback, and coaching engineers at multiple levels
- Strong proficiency in Python or Java
- Solid understanding of cloud-native architecture, services, integrations, and automation
- Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills
- Ability to manage ambiguity while providing clarity and direction to the team
- Experience with Marketo or any enterprise marketing automation platform is nice to have
- Experience with workflow automation tools (Workato, Zapier, etc.) is nice to have
- Experience supporting Marketing, Sales, or RevOps teams in a SaaS or data-heavy environment is nice to have
