Engineering Manager - Full Stack Technologies

About the Opportunity :

Youll lead the engineering effort for a high-visibility, strategic project at one of our key clients.

This is not a portfolio roleyoull own full responsibility for the engineering delivery of this project in BFSI, define the architecture, lead the team, and drive it to go-live.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Lead the engineering team responsible for a project: from requirements, architecture, build, deployment, to maintenance.

- Work closely with the client (and internal stakeholders): manage technical discussions, clarify expectations, translate business needs into technical solutions.

- Define and drive the technical architecture for the project: ensure scalability, reliability, security, and performance.

- Set engineering standards, coding practices, QA processes, and deployment pipelines specific to the project and ensure adherence.

- Plan resource allocation, delivery schedules, and risk registers, and ensure the project stays on time, within scope and meets quality expectations.

- Monitor engineering KPIs (velocity, bug-rate, uptime, performance metrics) and use them to drive continuous improvement.

- Oversee code reviews, guidance on full stack architecture (frontend, backend, APIs, cloud).

- Mentor and grow team members involved in the project: build technical capability and ownership for this project.

- Escalate roadblocks, propose mitigation plans, and take ownership of delivery issues.

- Collaborate with product, design, data science (if applicable), and operations to align engineering output with business outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements :

Must-Haves :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- Proven experience in software engineering (8+ years), including at least 34 years in a managerial/lead engineering role (managing team(s) of engineers).

- Strong foundation in full-stack development: knowledge of frontend, backend, APIs, databases, cloud architecture.

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and building/deploying cloud-native applications.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills: able to interact with business and technical audiences.

- Demonstrated ability to work in agile delivery environments, leading engineering delivery for a high-visibility project.

- Strong system design skills: scalable, secure, robust architectures.

Nice-to-Haves :

- Exposure to AI/ML product engineering or integrating ML models into deployed solutions.

- Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD practices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.

- Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment with rapid delivery cycles.
