About the Role :

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with modern software development, distributed systems, cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, databases, and third-party integrations, along with experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional growth.

- Own the complete software development lifecycle from technical requirements and architecture through development, testing, deployment, and production support.

- Define technical direction, architecture standards, coding practices, and engineering best practices.

- Design and review scalable, highly available, secure, and maintainable software systems.

- Review code, technical designs, API specifications, database architecture, and system implementations.

- Collaborate with Product and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Lead development and integration of REST APIs, financial systems, payment gateways, and third-party platforms.

- Drive microservices and distributed-system architecture for scalable applications.

- Work with DevOps and Cloud teams on CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, reliability, and infrastructure scalability.

- Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks, performance issues, system dependencies, and production challenges.

- Establish engineering metrics and processes to improve software quality, delivery velocity, reliability, and maintainability.

- Drive automated testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and release management practices.

- Ensure applications meet security, performance, scalability, availability, and data protection requirements.

- Participate in engineering hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and team development.

- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Technical Skills :

- Programming : Java, Python, Node.js, C#, or similar.

- Frameworks : Spring Boot, .NET, Node.js, or equivalent.

- Architecture : Microservices, REST APIs, Distributed Systems, Event-Driven Architecture.

- Databases : PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, or equivalent.

- Messaging : Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or similar.

- Cloud : AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- DevOps : Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, deployment automation.

- Monitoring : CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent.

Preferred Domain Experience :

- Experience in FinTech, Banking, Financial Services, Payments, Investment Technology, Wealth Management, or related domains.

- Understanding of financial APIs, transaction processing, payment workflows, reconciliation, and data security.

- Exposure to security, compliance, auditability, and data privacy requirements.

Required Qualifications :

- 10 - 15 years of experience in software engineering and technology development.

- Proven experience in Engineering Management or leading software engineering teams.

- Strong technical problem-solving and architectural decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
