Job Description :
An Engineering Manager at reimagineering.ai is responsible for making delivery predictable. You will lead small, high-performing engineering teams embedded with clients, shielding engineers from unnecessary noise while ensuring stakeholders have the right visibility. This role requires balancing strong technical judgment with people leadership, maintaining a high quality bar without becoming a bottleneck. It demands equal depth in engineering craft and the ability to lead teams with clarity, structure, and accountability.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Maintain deep technical involvement to review architecture, challenge assumptions, and mentor engineers
- Establish and enforce engineering standards across code quality, testing, documentation, and AI practices
- Champion observability, reliability, and security as essential delivery requirements
- Own delivery plans across client engagements including scope, milestones, dependencies, and risks
- Ensure sprint structures are effective and commitments are consistently reliable
- Identify and resolve blockers early, escalating clearly when required
- Understand and manage AI-specific delivery challenges such as latency, output variability, and evaluation cycles
- Ensure AI features are scoped realistically with proper validation and fallback strategies
- Stay updated on AI advancements and translate them into practical team and tooling decisions
- Act as the primary engineering point of contact for client stakeholders including product managers and technical leaders
- Communicate engineering complexity in clear business terms including timelines, trade-offs, and confidence levels
- Navigate scope discussions while balancing delivery timelines with engineering quality
- Lead engineers through 1:1s, structured feedback, and growth conversations
- Build a culture of high code quality, intellectual honesty, and continuous improvement
- Protect team focus by minimizing context switching, scope creep, and stakeholder noise
Skills :
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3+ years managing teams
- Strong hands-on engineering foundation with the ability to contribute to code, design systems, and review code effectively
- Proven experience delivering projects end-to-end with predictability and consistent quality
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders and building trust through delivery reliability
- Familiarity with AI/ML product development and understanding of how AI delivery differs from traditional software
- Ability to give clear, direct, and actionable feedback grounded in observable behavior
- Comfortable operating in consulting environments with multiple clients and high accountability
- Strong judgment on when to push back versus adapt to maintain both delivery and quality
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
