Role : Azure APIM Engineering Lead

We are seeking a seasoned Azure APIM Engineering Lead to architect, implement, and manage enterprise-grade API solutions using Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure API Management, cloud-native architectures, and integration strategies, with a proven track record of leading complex API initiatives across large-scale environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of APIs using Azure API Management.

- Architect scalable and secure API solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.

- Manage the full API lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and versioning.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

- Implement API security protocols including OAuth2, JWT, and IP filtering.

- Monitor API performance and usage metrics; optimize for scalability and reliability.

- Drive automation and CI/CD practices for API deployments.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

- Ensure compliance with enterprise integration standards and governance policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 7+ years of experience in software development and integration.

- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure API Management.

- Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs.

- Proficiency in Azure services : Logic Apps, Functions, Event Grid, Service Bus, etc.

- Experience with API gateway policies, throttling, caching, and transformation.

- Familiarity with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and CI/CD pipelines.

- Knowledge of security best practices for APIs and cloud environments.

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-204, AZ-305).

- Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.

- Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
