Job Description :

We are hiring an Energy Modeller to join a high-performing modelling team focused on Asia-Pacific power markets. This role is ideal for an experienced Energy Modeller / Quantitative Analyst who combines strong analytical and programming skills with an interest in energy markets, mathematical modelling, and emerging AI technologies.

Responsibilities :

- Lead the development of model features that capture complex energy market dynamics.

- Design new modelling approaches using expert knowledge of power markets.

- Work closely with research and advisory teams to derive insights from model outputs.

- Develop and deliver robust, high-quality modelling software for internal and external users.

- Continuously improve modelling processes and explore opportunities to leverage AI in workflows.

- Lead modelling development projects and contribute to the evolution of modelling methodologies.

- Manage and mentor junior team members and support their professional development.

- Apply quantitative and analytical techniques to solve complex energy-market problems.

- Contribute to modelling activities focused on Asia-Pacific power markets.

Requirements :

Essential :

- Relevant degree in a quantitative discipline such as : Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in model development or software development, preferably in a commercial environment.

- Strong knowledge of at least one programming language : Python, MATLAB, C++, R, or Java.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

Good to Have :

- PhD in a relevant field.

- Experience with mathematical optimisation (Linear Programming, Dynamic Programming, Mixed-Integer Programming).

- Experience developing power market models.

- Prior people-management or mentoring experience.

- Strong interest and understanding of power markets.

- Interest in applying modern AI technologies to modelling and analytical workflows.
