About the Role :
We are hiring experienced Embedded Software Engineers for a leading consumer electronics semiconductor program focused on next-generation SoC development. The role involves developing low-level embedded software, device drivers, and reusable frameworks for silicon bring-up, validation enablement, and subsystem characterization across pre-silicon and post-silicon platforms.
This is a hands-on development role with strong exposure to SoC architecture, ARM-based systems, emulation platforms, and embedded software debugging.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop embedded C software, low-level drivers, and reusable validation frameworks for SoC platforms
- Develop bare-metal and RTOS-based software for subsystem bring-up and validation
- Work on critical SoC blocks such as Camera, Display, GPU, Memory, Security, and peripheral interfaces
- Build scalable software infrastructure usable across emulation, FPGA, and silicon platforms
- Collaborate with architecture, RTL, and hardware validation teams for software-hardware integration
- Debug and optimize embedded software on FPGA, emulator, and silicon development boards
- Participate in code reviews, software design discussions, and technical documentation
- Contribute to performance characterization, subsystem enablement, and boot-time software development
Mandatory Skills :
- Strong Embedded C programming experience
- Solid understanding of embedded systems and low-level software development
- Experience with peripheral driver development: UART, I2C, SPI, USB, eMMC, I2S, etc.
- Good knowledge of ARM architecture and SoC internals
- Hands-on experience in bare-metal programming and boot flow development
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills
- Familiarity with Git/Gerrit or similar version control tools
Good to Have :
- Experience in pre-silicon/post-silicon validation enablement
- Exposure to emulation platforms such as ZeBu, Palladium, or Veloce
- Experience with FreeRTOS or similar RTOS
- Scripting knowledge in Python, TCL, or Bash
- Linux system programming and ARM boot flow understanding
- Understanding of RTL concepts and software-hardware interaction
- Experience in consumer electronics SoCs, especially Camera or Display domains
Desired Candidate Profile :
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent debugging capability in embedded environments
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Self-driven and adaptable to fast-paced semiconductor development environments
- Passion for working on advanced silicon and embedded software technologies
