Job Title : Embedded Firmware Engineer

Experience : 3+ Years

Location : Bangalore (BTP)

Work Mode : Work From Office

Role Summary :

Firmware Development & Design :

- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware using C programming for microcontroller-based systems.

- Implement firmware modules for real-time embedded systems with a focus on performance and reliability.

- Develop low-level drivers and middleware for hardware abstraction.

- Participate in full firmware lifecycle including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance.

Hardware Interaction & Board Bring-Up :

- Perform board bring-up activities, including initial hardware validation and debugging.

- Work closely with hardware teams on analog and digital circuit integration.

- Debug hardware-software interaction issues using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.

- Understand schematics and support hardware validation and troubleshooting.

Microcontroller & Peripheral Integration :

- Work with various microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex, etc.).

- Interface and configure peripherals such as :

1. ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter)

2. PWM (Pulse Width Modulation)

3. DMA (Direct Memory Access)

4. Timers, GPIOs, UART, SPI, I2C, etc.

- Develop efficient drivers and ensure proper timing and synchronization.

Performance Optimization :

- Optimize firmware for :

1. Low power consumption

2. High performance and real-time responsiveness

- Analyze system bottlenecks and improve efficiency through code optimization and architecture improvements.

- Work on memory optimization (stack/heap usage) and CPU utilization.

Build System & Toolchain Management :

- Work with different toolchains such as :

1. GCC

2. IAR

3. ARM toolchains

- Understand and modify linker scripts for memory layout and optimization.

- Manage firmware builds, debugging, and version control processes.

Testing & Debugging :

- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation.

- Debug firmware issues using JTAG/SWD debuggers and other tools.

- Ensure robust error handling and fault tolerance in embedded applications.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work :

- Collaborate with :

1. Hardware engineers

2. System architects

3. QA and validation teams

- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.

- Document design, development, and testing processes clearly.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Strong programming skills in Embedded C

- Solid understanding of :

1. Embedded systems concepts

2. Real-time systems

3. Software build processes

- Hands-on experience with board bring-up and debugging

Hardware Knowledge (Mandatory) :

- Basic understanding of Analog & Digital Electronics

- Ability to read and interpret circuit schematics

- Familiarity with signal-level debugging and hardware interfacing

Microcontroller & Peripherals :

- Good understanding of microcontroller architectures
