Role Overview:

As an ElasticSearch Lead, you will spearhead the design, optimization, and maintenance of our core search and analytics platforms. You will work closely with data engineering teams, product managers, and infrastructure architects to ensure that our search clusters are highly available, performant, and capable of handling complex query requirements. This role is pivotal in shaping the search experience for our end-users, directly influencing the speed and accuracy of data retrieval across our entire product ecosystem. You will be responsible for translating high-level business requirements into scalable technical solutions while mentoring junior engineers to maintain high standards of code quality and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Architect and deploy high-performance ElasticSearch clusters to ensure low-latency data retrieval for large-scale production environments.

- Optimize indexing strategies and query performance to improve system efficiency and reduce resource consumption.

- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate search capabilities into existing microservices and data pipelines.

- Monitor cluster health and implement proactive scaling strategies to maintain uptime and performance during peak traffic periods.

- Establish best practices for data modeling, mapping, and shard management to support the evolving needs of our data-intensive applications.

- Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis to prevent system bottlenecks and ensure long-term stability.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in managing and scaling ElasticSearch clusters within a distributed, cloud-native environment.

- Strong proficiency in data modeling, query DSL, and performance tuning techniques for large-scale datasets.

- Proven ability to design and maintain robust data pipelines using tools like Logstash, Beats, or Kafka to feed search indices.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical constraints into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment in Bangalore.
