About the Role :


We are looking for a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer Java to drive the design, architecture, and development of scalable cloud-native platforms and distributed systems.


The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in backend engineering, cloud architecture, distributed systems, and technical leadership. This role requires strong ownership across the complete software development lifecycle along with the ability to mentor engineers and influence platform-level technical direction.


Candidates with a strong history of technical innovation, platform scalability, and engineering leadership in product-based organizations will be highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities :


- Design and develop highly scalable, resilient, and cloud-native backend systems and platform services.


- Architect solutions that seamlessly integrate cloud platforms with on-premises enterprise systems.


- Drive technical direction, engineering excellence, and architectural decisions across teams.


- Lead development of distributed systems and high-availability applications using Java and modern backend technologies.


- Identify platform optimization opportunities to improve scalability, reliability, efficiency, and performance.


- Own end-to-end delivery of critical software initiatives including : Architecture & Design Development QA Coordination Deployment


Monitoring & Reliability :


- Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and Engineering teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.


- Communicate complex technical concepts, architecture decisions, and trade-offs effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.


- Contribute to long-term platform evolution by evaluating emerging technologies and industry trends.


- Build systems that prevent reliability, scalability, utilization, and operational bottlenecks.


- Mentor and guide engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, and engineering best practices.


- Drive operational excellence, observability, monitoring, and system reliability initiatives.


Required Skills & Qualifications :


- Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 8 to 15 years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend/platform engineering expertise.


- Strong programming expertise in Java.


- Proven experience designing and building: Distributed Systems Cloud-Native Applications Scalable Backend Platforms High-Availability Systems


- Strong understanding of : System Design Scalability


Performance Optimization :


- Reliability Engineering Experience integrating cloud and on-premises systems.


- Strong experience in architecture design, technical problem-solving, and engineering leadership.


- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.


- Experience leading engineers and driving technical initiatives across teams.


- Strong debugging, analytical, and communication skills.


Preferred Skills :


- Experience with: Kubernetes Docker Microservices Architecture CI/CD Pipelines


Observability & Monitoring Tools :


- Exposure to storage systems, platform engineering, or enterprise SaaS products.


- Experience working in large-scale product engineering organizations.
