- Lead and shape the technical strategy of the companys ecommerce ecosystem (frontend, backend, integrations, infrastructure).

- Drive architecture, quality, security, and performance across platforms.

- Mentor and manage cross functional teams (developers, DevOps, QA, UX, product).

- Act as the technical liaison between product/business stakeholders and engineering.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Technical Architecture & Strategy :

- Define and evolve ecommerce architecture spanning frontend (React, Vue), headless commerce, middleware APIs (GraphQL/REST), CMS, OMS, PIM, loyalty/CRM systems.

- Evaluate and introduce new platforms, technologies and best practices for scalability and conversion optimization.

- Lead migration initiatives (e.g. monolith ? headless, Magento ? Salesforce Commerce Cloud or custom microservices).

2. Development & Delivery Leadership :

- Own the end to-end delivery of ecommerce features, integrations, and releases.

- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, testing automation, rollback strategies.

- Conduct and enforce technical design reviews and code reviews ensuring technical excellence.

3. Performance, Reliability & Security :

- Monitor platform KPIs such as latency, availability, cart abandonment, throughput; optimize performance and user experience.

- Implement observability (e.g. Grafana, New?Relic), incident response, root?cause analyses and proactive performance improvements.

- Define and enforce best practices for secure e?commerce development, data privacy, PCI compliance.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration :

- Liaise with product, UX/UI, marketing, logistics, and customer operations to align technical solutions with business goals.

- Support A/B testing, conversion rate optimization (CRO), analytics initiatives.

- Manage third-party vendors, agencies, and external partners.

5. Team Leadership & Talent Development :

- Build and manage technical teams : recruitment, mentoring, performance reviews, promotions.

- Define clear task allocation, backlog grooming, sprint planning, delivery tracking.

- Foster continuous learning, code quality culture, and shared engineering standards.

Qualifications & Experience :

- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent.

- 710+ years in software development or ecommerce engineering; 3+ years in a leadership/tech lead role.

- Proven hands on experience with one or more commerce platforms : Magento, Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Commerce, headless frameworks.

- Strong technical stack knowledge : JavaScript (React.js/Next.js, Vue.js), TypeScript, Node.js, Java, Springboot, GraphQL, REST APIs; familiarity with front-end performance toolsets.

- Experience in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, CDNs (CloudFront, Netlify, Fastly).

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, Agile/Scrum practices.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with enterprise integrations (PIM, OMS, loyalty, CRM, shipping logistics).

- Domain experience in categories like fashion, eyewear, luxury goods, FMCG.

- Knowledge of SAP Hybris, Adobe Experience Manager or similar platforms.

- Exposure to MACH / microservices / event-driven / composable commerce architectures.

- Familiarity with accessibility (WCAG), SEO, internationalization/localization.
