Role Summary.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Workato Developer to lead complex integration and automation initiatives across enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development expertise in Workato, API engineering, and cloud integrations, with the ability to architect scalable solutions, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Solution Design & Architecture :
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of end-to-end Workato integration solutions for enterprise applications.
- Define integration patterns, automation frameworks, reusable components, and governance standards.
- Analyse business processes and convert them into scalable technical integration designs.
- Evaluate API documentation, system capabilities, and data models to propose robust integration strategies.
Development & Engineering :
- Build advanced Workato recipes, jobs, and automations using complex logic, loops, branching, reusable functions, and error-handling frameworks.
- Develop and maintain custom connectors using Workato Connector SDK, including authentication flows (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys).
- Integrate systems using REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, GraphQL, SFTP, database connections, and message queues.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, version control, environment management (Dev/UAT/Prod), and deployment automation for Workato assets.
Testing, Optimization & Quality :
- Own the full lifecycle of integration testing: unit tests, regression tests, integration tests, and performance tuning.
- Conduct deep debugging, log analysis, and real-time monitoring of recipes to ensure reliability, scalability, and high throughput.
- Optimize recipe performance by reducing latency, API consumption, and bottlenecks.
Stakeholder Collaboration :
- Work with product owners, engineering teams, business analysts, and enterprise architects to ensure alignment with technical and business goals.
- Manage client/stakeholder discussions to clarify requirements, present solutions, and ensure seamless delivery.
Leadership & Mentoring :
- Provide technical leadership to junior developers and integration engineers.
- Conduct code reviews, ensure Workato development standards, and guide the team on integration best practices.
- Contribute to Workato Center of Excellence (CoE) frameworks, templates, and reusable accelerators.
Documentation & Compliance :
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including solution architecture diagrams, integration specs, data mapping, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards, data privacy, and audit guidelines.
Required Skills & Experience :
Technical Expertise :
- 47+ years of integration experience with at least 23 years of strong Workato development.
- Hands-on experience with API development, REST/SOAP integrations, JSON, XML, SQL, and webhooks.
- Expertise in Workato Connector SDK, custom connector development, and advanced recipe engineering.
