Principal Engineer in Global Supply Chain Technology at Dr. Martens will bridge business challenges across planning, product, sourcing, logistics, and finance with the right technology solutions. Working closely with the Technical Architect, you will translate architectural direction into tangible, adopted solutions, balancing modern data, AI, and agentic approaches with proven enterprise systems. Your deep retail and supplychain domain expertise will guide decisions on configuration, custom build, integration, or AIdriven solutions, ensuring the right tool is chosen for each business problem.

Key Responsibilities :

- Partner directly with business stakeholders to uncover the underlying problem behind each request and translate it into a scoped, deliverable technology solution.

- Collaborate with the Technical Architect to convert design principles into implemented solutions across the supplychain technology estate.

- Lead handson delivery on priority initiatives, including Program LACE (demand planning on Blue Yonder), new assortment planning, and allocation/replenishment for DTC and wholesale.

- Evaluate solution options SaaS configuration, custom build, integration, data pipeline, or agentic/AI approachand determine when to extend existing enterprise capabilities.

- Apply data engineering fundamentals to ensure clean, reliable data flows into and out of any platform.

- Rapidly build fluency in new SaaS or custom applications, leveraging retail and supplychain domain knowledge.

- Mentor engineers and consultants across platforms such as Blue Yonder, FlexPLM, and D365, connecting platform work to broader architecture.

- Champion a collaborative, highcare work style, communicating honestly about risk and progress and treating all partners with respect.

Required Skills :

- 12 to 16 years of overall technology experience, with roughly the first decade in handson engineering or technical development before progressing to a senior solutioning role.

- Deep, demonstrated experience in retail or supplychain technology, understanding the business processes behind planning, product, sourcing, logistics, or fulfilment.

- Proven ability to learn and apply new SaaS or custom platforms quickly, using domain expertise to bridge gaps.

- Strong working knowledge of data engineering fundamentals: data pipelines, integrations, and master data flow across an enterprise supplychain landscape.

- Practical understanding of where data, AI, and agentic solutions add business value, balanced with judgement to recognize when a traditional solution is preferable.

- Comfort operating across structured transactional systems (ERP, planning, PLM) and newer data and AIdriven approaches.

- Experience partnering with technical or solution architects to move from design intent to working, adopted solutions.

- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, able to work across business, technical, and vendor teams with equal ease.

Preferred Skills :

- Direct exposure to Blue Yonder, FlexPLM, D365 Supply Chain Management, or similar retail/supplychain platforms.

- Experience with demand planning, assortment planning, or allocation and replenishment processes for DTC and wholesale businesses.

- Familiarity with agentic frameworks, AIassisted workflows, or applied machine learning in a supplychain or retail context.

- Deep expertise in REST APIs, eventdriven integrations, microservices patterns, cloud platforms (Azure preferred), data processing, transformation, workflow orchestration, and secure, scalable integration practices.
