Xneeti is building fast, scaling fast, and evolving into a tech-led performance and automation ecosystem for global ecommerce brands. We are looking for a Director of Engineering who can own the end-to-end engineering function-architecture, delivery, team building, and technical excellence.

The ideal candidate is a strong backend technologist (Node.js), comfortable across MEAN/MERN stacks, with solid DevOps knowledge and the ability to architect and ship scalable, secure, resilient systems. This is a leadership role with significant ownership, visibility, and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture :

- Define the engineering vision, technical roadmap, and architecture for all Xneeti platforms and products.

- Architect and scale backend systems using Node.js, microservices, APIs, automations, and data pipelines.

- Ensure best practices in system design, performance, security, and compliance.

- Drive technology decisions-frameworks, tooling, cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, observability, testing frameworks, etc.

Engineering Team Leadership :

- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering team (backend, frontend, DevOps, QA).

- Set engineering standards, code quality guidelines, and review processes.

- Create a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Manage capacity, hiring, planning, and skill development.

Execution & Delivery Ownership :

- Lead end-to-end delivery of engineering projects, ensuring timelines, quality, and stability.

- Collaborate with founders, product, and business teams to turn requirements into robust technical solutions.

- Oversee sprint planning, prioritization, and execution across multiple product lines.

- Manage releases, deployments, and post-release monitoring.

DevOps, Cloud & Reliability :

- Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and ensure scalability, availability, and cost efficiency.

- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment workflows.

- Ensure strong DevOps practices around observability, logging, monitoring, and incident response.

- Introduce tools, frameworks, and automation to improve delivery speed and system reliability.

Product & Business Collaboration :

- Translate business goals into technical strategy and measurable engineering outcomes.

- Work closely with product stakeholders to scope features, estimate effort, and plan releases.

- Provide data-driven insights and reports to leadership and founders.

Requirements :

- 9-15 years of total engineering experience with strong backend expertise in Node.js.

- Deep experience with MEAN/MERN stack and frontend architecture understanding.

- Strong understanding of databases : MongoDB, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis.

- Solid DevOps exposure : Docker, CI/CD, cloud (AWS/GCP), monitoring tools.

- Proven experience leading engineering teams and scaling systems.

- Strong architectural skills (microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, scalable infra).

- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with high ownership.

Preferred / Good to Have :

- Experience building automation tools, internal dashboards, or data pipelines.

- Exposure to serverless architectures, message queues, and distributed systems.

- Prior experience in high-growth startups, SaaS, or ecommerce-tech environments.
