Director of Engineering - Full Stack Technologies

About the Role :

We are hiring a hands-on Director of Engineering for a fast-growing SaaS startup working at the intersection of AI, 3D, and XR technologies.

This is a tech-first leadership role, requiring 50 - 60% hands-on coding, along with ownership of architecture, team building, and scaling high-performance systems.

The role offers a clear path to CTO, with direct collaboration with founders and high ownership.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Architecture & System Design :

- Build high-performance systems for real-time rendering, 3D processing, and ML pipelines

- Drive decisions on scalability, performance, and technical strategy

2. Hands-On Development :

- Build and optimize APIs, pipelines, and distributed systems

- Develop AI/ML pipelines (CV, generative AI, recognition)

- Work on WebGL / Three.js / real-time rendering systems

3. Team Leadership :

- Mentor engineers and drive engineering excellence

- Establish development processes, code quality, and best practices

4. Engineering Operations :

- Manage AWS ecosystem with cost-performance optimization

- Ensure system reliability, security, and scalability

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Translate product requirements into technical execution

- Support business teams with technical insights

Must-Have Requirements (Strict Screening) :

- 3 - 4 years in technical leadership roles

- Strong hands-on expertise in :

1. React.js / Next.js

2. Node.js and/or Python

3. AWS (cloud architecture)

- Proven experience in scalable system design

- Experience with AI/ML deployment

- Strong knowledge of WebGL / Three.js / 3D graphics

- Background in SaaS / Product / Startup / IT Services companies

Good to Have :

- Exposure to XR / AR / VR / gaming / immersive tech

- Built products from 0 to 1

- Experience scaling teams from early stage to growth stage

- Exposure to open-source or technical leadership content
