Director of Engineering

Description :

Our client is looking for a seasoned Director of Engineering to lead high-performing engineering teams and drive the delivery of scalable, high-quality products. This role requires close collaboration with Product, Design, and Business teams to translate strategy into execution. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with a product mindset and is open to travel for stakeholder and customer engagements.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Team Building :

- Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement

- Define engineering best practices, processes, and standards

Product Collaboration :

- Partner closely with Product Management and Design teams to define roadmaps and deliver impactful features

- Translate product requirements into scalable and reliable technical solutions

- Balance speed, quality, and business impact in execution

Engineering Execution :

- Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment)

- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of products and platform capabilities

- Drive architectural decisions for scalability, performance, and reliability

Stakeholder Management :

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Sales, and Customer Success

- Communicate effectively with executive leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes

- Engage with customers and partners as needed

Operational Excellence :

- Establish metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to track engineering efficiency and product performance

- Drive continuous improvement in development processes and tools

- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality standards

Travel & Collaboration :

- Be open to travel for internal alignment, customer meetings, and global team collaboration

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field

- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles

- Proven experience managing and scaling engineering teams

- Strong technical background in modern software development (backend, frontend, or full-stack systems)

- Experience working closely with Product teams in an agile environment

Preferred Qualifications :

- Exposure to AI/ML concepts or data-driven product development (nice to have)

- Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and distributed systems

- Prior experience in building customer-facing products at scale

- Experience in global or cross-cultural team environments
