About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Solution Architect to design, lead, and optimize enterprise-scale ServiceNow implementations.
The ideal candidate will combine deep platform expertise with strong architectural, integration, and leadership skills to deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-performing ServiceNow solutions aligned with business objectives and enterprise IT strategy.
Key Responsibilities :
Requirements Analysis & Solution Design :
- Engage with business stakeholders, product owners, and IT teams to gather and validate requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and high-level architecture for ServiceNow solutions.
- Create detailed design documents, solution blueprints, and data flow diagrams that define how functionalities and integrations will be implemented.
- Evaluate existing systems to ensure new solutions align with enterprise architecture and business goals.
End-to-End Architecture Ownership :
- Own the overall technical architecture and roadmap for ServiceNow implementations or enhancements.
- Design data models, CMDB structures, process workflows, and integration frameworks ensuring scalability and compliance with platform best practices.
- Drive architectural decisions for multiple modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, ITAM, and GRC.
- Ensure architectural alignment with enterprise standards and frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL).
Module Implementation & Customization :
- Lead configuration and customization of ServiceNow modules including forms, workflows, client/server scripts, UI actions, business rules, and notifications.
- Supervise developers to ensure adherence to coding standards and ServiceNow best practices.
- Leverage Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and UI Builder for advanced automation and user experiences.
- Maintain a balance between out-of-the-box configurations and required customizations to ensure upgradeability.
Integration & Data Management :
- Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, IAM, monitoring tools).
- Utilize REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, JDBC, and IntegrationHub spokes for secure and efficient data exchange.
- Ensure robust data governance, synchronization accuracy, and high-performance data flows across connected systems.
- Define and enforce integration standards, error handling, and logging mechanisms.
Technical Leadership & Governance :
- Serve as the technical lead for ServiceNow delivery teams, providing guidance on architecture, configuration, and design decisions.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce development standards, and mentor team members.
- Define and maintain governance frameworks for customization, deployment, and instance management.
- Collaborate with ServiceNow administrators, developers, and platform owners to ensure solution consistency and maintainability.
Testing, Quality Assurance & Deployment :
- Oversee test planning, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases.
- Validate that solutions meet business and technical requirements before deployment.
- Plan and coordinate go-live activities, ensuring minimal disruption and smooth transition to production.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture artifacts, and operational playbooks.
Post-Implementation Optimization :
- Continuously monitor solution performance, adoption, and user feedback post-deployment.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and performance tuning.
- Recommend ServiceNow upgrades, patches, and new capabilities that enhance business value.
Compliance, Standards & Best Practices :
- Ensure all solutions align with ServiceNow best practices, ITIL processes, and enterprise security policies.
- Promote reuse of existing components and patterns, reducing redundancy across implementations.
- Contribute to developing internal frameworks, accelerators, and technical guidelines for ServiceNow delivery.
Collaboration & Communication :
- Partner with project managers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to ensure project success.
- Communicate architecture decisions, risks, and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects and ServiceNow product owners to align platform strategy with business needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8 to 15 years of total IT experience, with at least 5 years of ServiceNow platform architecture experience.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale ServiceNow implementations across multiple modules.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow data model, CMDB, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and MID Server.
- Hands-on expertise in scripting languages: JavaScript, AngularJS, Glide API, and REST/SOAP API integration.
- Solid grasp of ITIL v4 processes, enterprise integration patterns, and security frameworks.
- ServiceNow certifications preferred:
1. Certified System Administrator (CSA)
2. Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in one or more modules (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, GRC, etc.)
3. Certified Application Developer (CAD)
4. Certified Technical Architect (CTA) a plus
