Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Lead with strong on-premises DevOps expertise to design, automate, and optimize enterprise-scale systems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying and managing high-volume enterprise Java applications, building CI/CD pipelines, maintaining robust infrastructure, and ensuring operational excellence. Prior experience in the financial domain is an added advantage.

This role requires strong leadership, deep technical proficiency across DevOps tools, and the ability to collaborate with development, operations, and security teams.

Key Responsibilities :

DevOps Engineering & Automation :

- Design, implement, and maintain scalable DevOps processes for high-volume enterprise applications.

- Containerize enterprise Java applications using Docker and orchestrate using Kubernetes.

- Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, GitLab, TeamCity, and Nexus.

- Automate deployment and configuration using tools like Puppet, Chef, or equivalent.

Infrastructure & Systems Management :

- Manage and administer Linux/Unix environments, ensuring optimal performance and system health.

- Implement and support microservices-based architectures, caching layers, and application servers.

- Work with Java Virtual Machines (JVM), Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Kafka, and IBM MQ.

Monitoring & Security :

- Implement and maintain monitoring solutions using Zabbix, CloudWatch, Nagios, or similar tools.

- Ensure infrastructure meets security, compliance, and operational standards.

- Troubleshoot system performance issues and ensure high availability in an always-on environment.

Collaboration & Leadership :

- Work closely with development teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the SDLC.

- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior team members.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams within development, QA, security, and operations.

- Support enterprise application development, maintenance, and operational activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 6+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps engineering, supporting on-premises environments.

- Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

Expertise in :

- Java application deployment

- Linux/Unix administration

- Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Kafka

- IBM MQ

- Microservices architecture

- Caching frameworks

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell.

- Strong experience creating CI/CD pipelines (Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab, Nexus).

- Knowledge of network fundamentals and information security practices.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.

- Experience in enterprise application development and support.

- Financial domain experience is a plus.
