DevOps Engineering Manager

Responsibilities :

- Provide leadership and vision for the cloud infrastructure team, ensuring a high level of performance and collaboration.

- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of DevOps and SRE professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

- Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT systems.

- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the digital banking cloud infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage.

- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions that align with the organisation's needs and goals.

- Design and implement scalable developer tooling to accommodate the growth of engineering teams.

- Oversee the implementation and optimisation of CI/CD pipelines to enhance the efficiency of software development and deployment processes.

- Manage and optimise data storage, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.

- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

- Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies to implement proactive measures.

- Foster collaboration between development, operations, and security teams to ensure a seamless and secure software delivery lifecycle.

- Deeply understand the business and manage the high availability of financial services, continuously improving the business SLA.

- Identify system weaknesses through comprehensive data operations (availability metrics, historical incidents, resource utilisation) and implement improvement projects.

- Respond promptly to production faults, coordinating with development, operation, maintenance, and product teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

- Responsible for fault response time and MTTR.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- Extensive experience in a leadership role focused on DevOps and SRE within the financial services or banking industry.

Must-Have :

- At least 3 years of direct people management experience, including responsibility for team members' career growth and development.

- In-depth knowledge of DevOps principles, practices, and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automation.

- Strong understanding of SRE methodologies, including monitoring, incident response, and reliability engineering.

- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing cloud infrastructure strategies.

- Deep expertise in cloud platforms, particularly GCP (Google Cloud Platform) - you should be hands-on with GCP services and architecture.

- Experience with cloud platforms (e. g., GCP, AWS).

- Solid knowledge and experience with IAAS and PAAS technology stacks.

- Familiarity with basic network principles, TCP/UDP networks, HTTP, Socket, CDN, and other technologies.

- Skilled in middleware/databases such as Redis, Kafka, MySQL, and Elasticsearch.

- Proficient in Docker/K8S container platforms and related underlying technologies and principles.

- Deep understanding of internet technology architecture, network communication protocols, application servers, load balancing, and microservices architecture.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
