Description :
Primary Skills : Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Git (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, SVN), Kubernetes, Helm Charts, AWS, GCP
We are seeking a Senior engineer to design, build, and operate automated, GitOps-driven deployment pipelines for UI-initiated data ingestion and processing workflows. These workflows include Kafka-based ingress, custom delivery pipelines, and topography / data processing workloads deployed across AWS, GCP, and private cloud environments.
This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, streaming systems, and cloud automation. You will enable safe, repeatable, and observable deployments that scale across environments with minimal manual intervention.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and implement GitOps workflows using Argo CD to manage application and infrastructure deployments.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or OpenTofu for AWS, GCP, and private cloud environments.
- Package and deploy services using Helm charts, including environment-specific configuration and overlays.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) to automate build, test, and deployment flows.
- Integrate secrets management and IAM solutions (e.g. Hashicorp Vault).
- Instrument services using OpenTelemetry and integrate with metrics, logging, and tracing backends.
- Design and operate Kubernetes workloads, including stateful streaming components.
- Support hybrid and private cloud deployments, including networking and connectivity considerations.
- Create clear runbooks, documentation, and operational playbooks for production support.
- Partner with product, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliant and resilient solutions.
- Support and evolve Kafka-based ingestion pipelines, including topic configuration, consumer groups, and delivery patterns.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
- Proven use of GitOps patterns, ideally with Argo CD.
- Solid experience with Terraform, including remote state and modular design.
- Experience packaging and deploying applications with Helm.
- Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP) and private or hybrid cloud environments.
- Practical experience with observability tooling, especially OpenTelemetry.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have :
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies, e.g. Istio.
- Experience with policy-as-code or IaC security tooling (OPA, Conftest, tfsec).
- Experience supporting regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Prior work on platform enablement or internal developer platforms.
- Working knowledge of stream processing / Kafka, including ingress patterns and pull-based consumers.
Deliverables & Outcomes :
- Reusable IaC modules and Helm charts.
- Automated deployment pipelines triggered by Git changes or UI-driven workflows.
- Secure secrets and identity integration.
- Production-ready monitoring dashboards and alerts.
- Clear operational documentation and runbooks.
- Reduced manual deployment effort and lower operational risk.
Candidate Profile :
- Senior-level engineer with 35+ years delivering production cloud-native or streaming platforms.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communicator who documents decisions and designs clearly.
- Pragmatic, automation-first mindset with a focus on reliability and simplicity.
- Ability to maintain overlap hours until 10 : 30pm IST , Monday through Thursday.
Hours are flexible on Fridays.
