Location : Remote

Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly experienced DevOps Engineer with deep technical expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions, and modern cloud-native delivery practices. The candidate will be responsible for architecting, implementing, optimizing, and governing enterprise?grade DevOps processes, pipelines, monitoring frameworks, and cloud infrastructure. This role requires the ability to operate at scale, ensure compliance with organizational standards, and enable high?velocity, secure, and reliable software delivery across multiple teams and products.

Key Responsibilities :

1. CI/CD Architecture & Delivery Automation :

- Architect enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

- Refactor existing pipelines to align with enterprise best practices, security standards, and compliance policies.

- Implement automated build, test, deploy, and verification workflows supporting multi-environment rollouts.

- Standardize reusable workflows, pipeline templates, and modular automation components for organization-wide adoption.

- Integrate vulnerability scanning, artifact integrity validation, SBOM generation, SAST/DAST tools, and policy enforcement.

2. GCP Cloud Infrastructure Engineering :

- Architect and manage secure, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud environments on Google Cloud Platform.

- Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform or Deployment Manager with enterprise governance controls.

- Manage GCP services including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, VPC, Cloud Build, Cloud Scheduler.

- Implement secure IAM strategies, workload identity federation, privilege boundaries, and policy enforcement.

- Establish enterprise multi-project structure, shared VPC, service boundaries, and resource hierarchy alignment.

3. Observability, Monitoring & Reliability Engineering :

- Build centralized monitoring dashboards using Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Error Reporting, and Metrics Explorer.

- Define, implement, and track SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets across all critical services.

- Create log-based metrics, uptime checks, automated alerts, and executive-level health dashboards.

- Implement distributed tracing, performance analysis, incident workflows, and root-cause analysis frameworks.

- Collaborate with engineering leads to define reliability thresholds and automated remediation paths.

4. Serverless, Microservices & Platform Operations :

- Manage and optimize serverless workloads at scale (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions).

- Design secure and efficient networking strategies including VPC connectors, ingress rules, internal service access.

- Support microservices platforms running in GKE or Cloud Run with strong observability and deployment automation.

- Optimize resource consumption, autoscaling policies, concurrency models, and rollout/rollback strategies.

5. Security, Compliance & Governance :

- Implement enterprise DevSecOps practices including identity boundaries, secrets management, and automated compliance checks.

- Integrate security validation into CI/CD workflows using industry-standard tools.

- Ensure continuous compliance with internal security policies, cloud governance rules, and audit requirements.

- Conduct periodic infrastructure audits, access reviews, and automated drift detection.

- Enable secure secret management using GCP Secret Manager and enforce key rotation policies.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technical Leadership :

- Collaborate with software engineering, QA, data, and SRE teams to drive DevOps adoption.

- Define and enforce DevOps standards, patterns, and reusable templates for cross-team alignment.

- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and training for DevOps processes and cloud technologies.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure, pipelines, cost optimization, and system reliability.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- 5+ years of hands-on DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE experience.

- Strong experience architecting and managing solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

- Expertise in GitHub Actions, automated pipelines, reusable workflows, and environment promotion strategies.

- Proficiency in Docker, container orchestration, Linux systems, and networking.

- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform (preferred), Pulumi, or Deployment Manager.

- Familiarity with Kubernetes/GKE and container-based microservice deployments.

- Experience with monitoring, metrics, alerting, and distributed tracing in production environments.

- Strong understanding of IAM, VPC networks, firewalls, routing, and secure workload identity.

- Experience implementing security and compliance standards across cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications such as Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Architect, CKA/CKAD.

- Experience with monorepo tooling (Nx, Bazel, Turbo) or enterprise build acceleration.

- Experience with Cloud Composer (Airflow) or advanced job orchestration.

- Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, or distributed message queues.

- Experience building centralized logging and governance frameworks across multiple teams or organizations.
