Dell Technologies - Software Engineer - Automation Testing

Job Description :

Location : Bangalore, India

As a SDET to join our Power Protect Data Domain product team. In this role, you will design and implement advanced automation frameworks, develop scalable test solutions, and validate complex distributed storage and data protection systems. You will also lead the adoption of AI-driven quality engineering practices, working closely with developers, DevOps, and product managers to ensure our scale-out architecture delivers industry-leading reliability, performance, and customer experience.

You will :

- Design and implement automated test frameworks for large-scale, distributed storage systems. Develop, execute, and maintain test suites to validate scale-out architecture, clustering, high availability, and system resilience.

- Architect and apply AI/ML-driven approaches for test selection, failure prediction, anomaly detection, and log analysis. Simulate real-world customer workloads and failure scenarios, including AI-assisted fault modeling and chaos experiments.

- Partner with development teams to embed testability and AI-friendly observability into feature design. Integrate advanced validation into CI/CD pipelines, including intelligent gating

and risk-based testing.

- Analyze and debug complex distributed issues using traditional and AI-assisted diagnostics;

file high-quality defects. Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, efficiency, and signal

quality through innovation and best practices. Collaborate across geographies and functions

(QA, DevOps, Support) to deliver end-to-end, AI-enhanced quality.

Heres what we are looking for with this role :

Essential Requirements

- Strong coding skills in Python, Go, or automation scripting languages.

- Deep experience with distributed systems, clustering, and high-availability testing.

- Hands-on expertise with Linux, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and networking fundamentals.

- Proficiency in automation frameworks (PyTest, JUnit, TestNG, or similar).

- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar). Applied experience with AI/ML in testing or observability, such as : Intelligent test selection or prioritization, Anomaly detection on metrics, logs, or test results,Failure clustering and root-cause analysis using ML or LLM-based tools

Desirable Requirements :

- Experience testing scale-out storage systems (e.g., EMC, NetApp, Cohesity, Rubrik). Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Exposure to chaos engineering, fault injection, and large-scale benchmarking.

- Experience integrating AI tools or platforms into engineering workflows (e.g., LLMs, predictive analytics, custom ML pipelines).
