About the Role :

We are seeking a Senior Manager / Delivery Head Data Engineering to lead, scale, and own a modern real-time data ecosystem. This role blends hands-on technical architecture, people leadership, and end-to-end delivery ownership. The incumbent will be responsible for building reliable, scalable, and high-performance data platforms while ensuring predictable delivery, stakeholder alignment, and operational excellence.

Strong production-grade experience with Apache Pinot is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Platform & Architecture Ownership :

- Own and evolve the central data lake and OLAP analytics platform

- Architect, build, and optimize real-time and batch data pipelines using Kafka/MSK, Debezium, and Apache Pinot

- Ensure platform scalability, low-latency querying, high availability, and fault tolerance for high-volume data systems

- Drive best practices for schema design, partitioning, indexing, and query optimization in Pinot

Delivery & Execution Ownership :

- Take end-to-end ownership of delivery for data engineering initiatives, from planning to production rollout

- Define delivery plans, timelines, milestones, and success metrics for multiple parallel workstreams

- Ensure predictable execution, on-time delivery, and high-quality outcomes across programs

- Identify delivery risks early and drive mitigation plans proactively

People & Team Leadership :

- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of Data Engineers

- Provide technical guidance, code/design reviews, and architectural direction

- Drive performance management, skill development, and succession planning within the team

- Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Management :

- Partner closely with Business, Product, Infrastructure, and Vendor teams

- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

- Act as a primary point of contact for data platform delivery and operational discussions

- Manage external vendors and partners to ensure alignment with delivery and quality expectations

Platform Reliability, Governance & Operations :

- Implement and enforce observability, monitoring, and alerting across data pipelines and platforms

- Establish strong data quality, governance, and reliability frameworks

- Ensure compliance with internal standards, security policies, and operational best practices

- Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous platform improvements

Must-Have Skills & Experience :

- Apache Pinot Mandatory, hands-on production experience

- Strong experience with real-time streaming systems and pipelines

- Expertise in AWS services including S3, Glue, Redshift, ECS/EKS

- Advanced SQL skills for analytics and performance tuning

- Proven experience managing large-scale, high-throughput data systems

- Strong people management and delivery leadership experience

- Ability to balance hands-on technical depth with managerial and delivery responsibilities

Mandatory Prerequisites :

- BE / BTech / MTech

- 10-20 years of overall experience in data engineering and platform delivery

- Willingness to work 5 days from office (Noida)

Desirable Skills :

- AWS Certifications

- Exposure to AI / ML workloads and analytics use cases

- Data Management or Architecture certifications
