Job Title : QA Technical Test Architect.
Experience Level : 15+ Years (with 3+ years in QA architecture or technical leadership role).
Role Summary :
The QA Technical Test Architect is responsible for defining and driving the overall test automation strategy, test architecture, and quality engineering best practices across all QA projects.
This role requires a strong blend of hands-on technical expertise, leadership, and strategic vision to ensure the delivery of high-quality software through scalable, maintainable, and efficient testing solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
QA Strategy & Architecture :
- Define and implement end-to-end test automation frameworks, tools, and processes.
- Establish a unified test architecture that supports UI, API, mobile, and performance testing.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging tools and technologies aligned with business needs.
- Define the test strategy for enterprise-level solutions covering functionality, performance, security, and integration.
Automation Framework & Tools :
- Design and develop reusable, modular, and scalable automation frameworks using modern tools (e.g., Selenium and Playwright/ Cypress, Appium, RestAssured, Postman, JMeter).
- Implement CI/CD integration (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Drive automation in cloud-based test environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Define automation metrics, KPIs, and dashboards using tools like Extent Reports, Allure, or custom analytics.
Technical Leadership :
- Mentor and guide QA engineers and automation developers across projects.
- Review code, test design, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure testability and early defect detection.
- Lead PoCs for new tools, frameworks, and performance testing solutions.
Quality Governance & Best Practices :
- Establish QA processes and ensure adherence to enterprise QA standards.
- Define and maintain test data management, environment management, and defect triage processes.
- Promote Shift-Left and Shift-Right testing approaches.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in test efficiency, reliability, and coverage.
Collaboration & Delivery :
- Partner with stakeholders (Product, Development, DevOps, Security) to align QA goals with business objectives.
- Participate in architectural reviews to identify quality risks early.
- Provide technical input in project estimation, planning, and risk management.
- Act as a QA SME in client and leadership discussions.
Required Technical Skills :
- Automation Tools : Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, RestAssured, Postman.
- Programming : Java, C#, JavaScript(at least one strongly preferred).
- Frameworks : BDD (SpecFlow/Cucumber), TestNG, JUnit, NUnit.
- API Testing : Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI, Swagger validation.
- Performance Testing : JMeter, Gatling, k6, or LoadRunner.
- CI/CD Integration : Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Azure DevOps.
- Version Control : Git, Bitbucket.
- Cloud Testing : AWS Device Farm, BrowserStack, or Sauce Labs.
- Reporting : Extent Reports, Allure, or custom dashboards.
- Database Validation : SQL, Oracle, MongoDB.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with microservices testing and contract testing (e.g., Pact).
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with AI-driven testing tools (Testim / Mabl / Functionize).
- Experience in setting up performance monitoring and observability dashboards (Grafana, Prometheus).
- Exposure to security testing (OWASP, Burp Suite, ZAP).
Soft Skills :
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to lead distributed teams and manage multiple QA projects.
