Datastage Developer (5- 10 Years Experience)

Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Datastage Developer to join our dynamic data engineering team in Hyderabad or Pune. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solutions that power our critical business intelligence and analytical platforms.

You will work closely with data architects, business analysts, and other development teams to understand complex data requirements, translating them into efficient and scalable data pipelines using IBM Datastage, with a strong focus on leveraging GCP Datastage capabilities. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality data to our stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making and supporting key business outcomes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop high-performance ETL jobs and data integration solutions using IBM Datastage and GCP Datastage to ingest, transform, and load data from various source systems into data warehouses and data lakes for analytical consumption.

- Optimize existing Datastage processes and jobs for efficiency, scalability, and reliability, ensuring optimal data flow and reduced processing times for critical business reporting.

- Implement and maintain robust Unix shell scripts for job orchestration, automation of data loading processes, and system monitoring, enhancing operational stability and reducing manual effort.

- Collaborate effectively with data architects, business stakeholders, and other developers to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and ensure that ETL solutions align with business needs and data governance standards.

- Conduct thorough unit testing, integration testing, and data validation to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data processed through ETL pipelines, guaranteeing reliable data for end-users.

- Provide expert technical support, troubleshooting, and resolution for Datastage-related issues, ensuring continuous availability and performance of data integration services.

Required Skillset :

- Proven expertise in designing, developing, and deploying complex ETL solutions using IBM Datastage, including parallel processing, sequence jobs, and performance tuning techniques.

- Strong hands-on experience with GCP Datastage, demonstrating the ability to leverage cloud-native data integration services and best practices within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.

- Proficient in Unix/Linux environments, with strong command-line skills and extensive experience in shell scripting for automation, job scheduling, and file manipulation.

- Excellent command of SQL for complex querying, data manipulation, performance tuning, and understanding of database concepts across various relational and non-relational databases.

- Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, and various ETL methodologies.

- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving data integration challenges.

- Collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
