About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled and results-driven DataStage Developer with strong expertise in ETL design, development, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building, optimizing, and managing data pipelines that ensure smooth data integration and transformation across diverse systems. This role requires a solid understanding of IBM InfoSphere DataStage, data warehousing concepts, and data modelling, along with a passion for delivering efficient and scalable ETL solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL processes using IBM DataStage to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into target systems such as data warehouses, data marts, or operational databases.

- Build, maintain, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence requirements.

- Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and application teams to understand data requirements, source-to-target mappings, and business rules.

- Perform data analysis, profiling, and validation to ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy across systems.

- Troubleshoot and resolve data load issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.

- Optimize ETL processes for scalability and performance using best practices in partitioning, parallel processing, and tuning.

- Create and maintain technical documentation including ETL design documents, data flow diagrams, and operational procedures.

- Work closely with stakeholders to implement data governance and ensure compliance with security and privacy standards.

- Participate in code reviews, peer testing, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and maintainability.

- Support migration or modernization projects involving DataStage to cloud-based platforms or other ETL frameworks, if required.

Technical Skills and Competencies :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Strong hands-on experience with IBM InfoSphere DataStage (Parallel, Server, and Sequencer jobs).

- Solid understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing methodologies, and data modelling principles.

- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and optimizing data extraction and transformation logic.

- Experience with RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or Teradata.

- Knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting for job automation and integration.

- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery is a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Good understanding of version control, DevOps, and CI/CD processes for ETL deployment.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

- IBM Certified DataStage Developer certification (preferred).

- Exposure to Agile development methodologies and data integration projects at enterprise scale.
