Role : DataStage Administrator

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced DataStage Administrator to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our DataStage environments, providing essential support, and driving continuous improvement through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities :
As a DataStage Administrator, your core responsibilities will include :
- Monitoring & Health Checks : Perform proactive monitoring of DataStage queues, applications, and overall system health to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues before they impact operations.
- ITIL Process Adherence : Strictly adhere to ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management, ensuring structured and efficient service delivery.
- Reporting : Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly status reports, as well as detailed ticket analysis reports, to provide clear visibility into system performance and support activities.
- Documentation & Knowledge Management : Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for known errors and frequently occurring service requests to streamline resolution processes. Participate in knowledge sharing sessions related to existing platforms for migration activities.
- Incident & Service Request Resolution : Drive permanent fixes for repeat incidents and service requests, aiming to reduce recurring issues and improve system stability. Provide timely and clear status updates to end-users on their incidents and service requests.
Support Operations :
- Utilize ServiceNow and email communication for all ticket handling and customer interactions.
- Raise service tickets for all email communication requests received from customers.
- Provide offshore support during the hours of 4 : 00 AM EST to 1 : 00 PM EST (2 : 30 PM IST to 11 : 30 PM IST).
- Perform support operations on a commercially reasonable effort basis, utilizing available bandwidth effectively.
- Provide extended support during weekends and month-ends as needed. Associates required to work on weekends will receive corresponding paid time off (PTO) on a weekday (typically 1 : 1 ratio), to be taken with approval from Customer and Wipro manager.
- Adhere strictly to the customer's holiday calendar.
Requirements :
- Proven experience as a DataStage Administrator with a strong understanding of DataStage monitoring, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with ITIL processes.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools for ticket management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with end-users and team members.
- Ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive reports and documentation (SOPs).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing permanent solutions.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Flexibility to work in the specified shift hours and provide extended support during critical periods.
