Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Data Center Engineer to support new data center builds and infrastructure deployments. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Dell PowerFlex, VMware virtualization, and physical server configuration and racking. This is a critical role in ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of enterprise infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and execute data center infrastructure builds, including racking, cabling, and configuring physical servers.

- Implement and manage Dell PowerFlex systems for hyper-converged infrastructure and storage solutions.

- Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware environments (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN).

- Collaborate with network, storage, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components.

- Perform system upgrades, patch management, and hardware diagnostics.

- Maintain documentation related to data center layouts, build procedures, and configurations.

- Ensure adherence to data center best practices in power, cooling, cable management, and physical security.

- Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and escalate vendor support when necessary.

Must-Have Skills :

- Proven experience in Data Center build and deployment projects.

- Strong hands-on knowledge of Dell PowerFlex architecture and administration.

- Experience with VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, DRS, HA).

- Physical server installation and configuration (Dell, HPE, Cisco UCS or similar).

- Understanding of data center operations, including power, cooling, and structured cabling.

- Scripting knowledge (PowerCLI, Python, or Shell) is a plus.

Good to Have :

- Exposure to software-defined storage and hyper-converged infrastructure.

- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies.

- Familiarity with data center monitoring tools (e.g., DCIM, SolarWinds, Nagios).

- Certifications such as VMware VCP, Dell EMC PowerFlex, or CompTIA Server+.

Education & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

- Relevant industry certifications are an advantage.

Work Conditions :

- Onsite presence required during physical builds and critical deployment phases.

- May involve weekend/night work during go-live or migrations.
