Key Responsibilities :


- Design, configure, and maintain MySQL database systems for production and development environments.

- Implement and manage database replication, clustering, and backup strategies.

- Monitor database performance and proactively tune queries, indexes, and schema for optimal efficiency.

- Handle database migrations, version upgrades, and automation of routine DB operations.

- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and ensure data availability and security.

- Collaborate with application developers to optimize queries and schema design.

- Perform troubleshooting of database-related performance or connectivity issues.

- Implement and monitor database access controls, ensuring compliance with security and audit standards.

- Support data modeling, schema design, and capacity planning for future scalability.

- Document database environments, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills & Experience :


- 7+ years of hands-on experience as a MySQL Database Administrator / Engineer.

- Deep knowledge of MySQL internals, replication (Master-Slave, GTID, Group Replication), and high availability architectures.

- Strong experience in query optimization, indexing, and database tuning.

- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting and automation.

- Experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g., Percona XtraBackup, mysqldump).

- Familiarity with cloud-based database environments (AWS RDS, Azure Database for MySQL, or GCP SQL).

- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM).

- Strong understanding of SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and database security best practices.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications :


- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Experience with NoSQL / NewSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.) is an added advantage.

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps integration, and database automation tools.

- Certifications such as MySQL Database Administrator / Oracle MySQL Certified Professional preferred.
